Barcelona Airport is facing major travel disruptions as a ground-handling workers' strike enters its third week.
Around 270 flights have been canceled, while approximately 6,000 pieces of baggage remain undelivered. The indefinite strike by Groundforce employees is affecting around 20 airlines, including Turkish Airlines, Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, United Airlines, Air France-KLM and Etihad.
Workers are demanding better staffing, improved working conditions, reasonable shift schedules and more rest time. The disruption comes during the busy August travel season, creating additional pressure on passengers and airlines.
Negotiations are continuing, but there is currently no clear date for the strike to end. Passengers traveling through Barcelona Airport should check their flight and baggage status before heading to the airport.
