Coronavirus hits technology production

Coronavirus hits technology production

Multinational technology firms LG, Samsung and Apple had to temporarily stop production at some of their factories due to the new type of coronavirus outbreak.

The new type of coronavirus ( Kovid-19 ) epidemic, which emerged in Wuhan, China, caused technology companies operating globally to stop production in some factories.

According to the information compiled by the AA reporter, the Kovid-19 outbreak, which is seen in many countries from China to South Korea, from Italy to the USA, also affected the production and supply of technology products.

South Korean technology firm LG has decided to temporarily close its two factories in the country. The company has stopped working to detect disinfection in one of its employees in the factory where the camera is manufactured in the city of Gumi.

Samsung also decided to temporarily suspend the activities of the factory after the virus was detected in the worker working in his factory in Gumi. In the statement made by the company, it was announced that the emphasis was given to the priority of the employees' health and that production was interrupted in order to take measures for the spread of the virus quickly.

Taiwan's Foxconn, which produces the devices of Apple, another multinational mobile device and software company, was temporarily closed at the beginning of February when a Kovid-19 incident occurred in one of the main production centers.

Supply chain has been disrupted

In China, which has become the largest technology production center in the world in recent years, the closure of factories or their production capacities have also caused problems in product supply.

Suppliers of products on the global e-commerce site Amazon have started to reduce their production due to the epidemic. On the day of discount opportunity that Amazon set as "Prime Day" last month, Chinese suppliers had difficulties in providing their products to Amazon customers.

Alibaba also reported problems with product supply last month. The company's top manager, Daniel Zhang, stated that they are following the production problem caused by the virus and the development of the situation.

The Mobile World Congress, in which technology companies introduced their new products, was not held in Barsenola last month after the outbreak occurred. The event was canceled after the companies announced that they would not participate.
