China Eastern Airlines has signed a major agreement with CFM International to expand its fleet and strengthen its long-term partnership with the aircraft engine manufacturer.
The agreement was signed at the China International Import Expo in Shanghai. Under the deal, China Eastern Airlines has selected **CFM International LEAP-1A engines for 101 new Airbus aircraft**.
New Generation Airbus Aircraft
The agreement covers engines for three Airbus aircraft models:
- Airbus A320neo
- Airbus A321neo
- Airbus A321XLR
The contract also includes spare engines and long-term maintenance services to support the airline's growing fleet.
Building on an Existing Partnership
China Eastern Airlines already operates 215 Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft powered by LEAP-1A engines.
By selecting the same engine family for its new aircraft, the airline aims to improve operational efficiency, simplify maintenance processes and benefit from its existing technical experience.
