Poland Plans Major Aviation Transformation for 2026–2032

Poland Plans Major Aviation Transformation for 2026–2032
Poland is preparing for a major transformation in its aviation sector as Polska Grupa Lotnicza (PGL), the group that includes LOT Polish Airlines, introduces a new strategy covering the period from 2026 to 2032.

The plan focuses on digital technology, operational efficiency and cost reduction while preparing the group for Poland’s future major airport project, Port Polska.

Digital Integration to Improve Airport Operations

One of the main priorities is modernising airport ground handling services through digital integration. PGL plans to connect flight planning systems with the operational infrastructure of its group company, LS Airport Services.

The initiative aims to improve real-time coordination of passenger services and apron operations, reduce aircraft turnaround times and help improve flight punctuality.

By connecting digital systems, PGL hopes to strengthen coordination between airlines and ground handling teams, supporting more efficient airport operations.

PGL Plans to Reduce Operating Costs

Cost reduction is another important part of the new restructuring strategy. PGL plans to consolidate information technology, finance, human resources and procurement activities under a central service centre.

This approach is designed to reduce duplicated tasks across group companies, improve resource utilisation and simplify internal management processes.

Port Polska Project Supports Long-Term Aviation Goals

PGL’s transformation strategy is also connected to Port Polska, a planned major airport development intended to strengthen Poland’s position in international passenger and cargo transportation.

The company aims to prepare for the airport’s future opening by developing stronger digital infrastructure, improving operational integration and building a more efficient corporate structure.

Strengthening Poland’s Position in European Aviation

In the long term, PGL wants to increase the competitiveness of Poland’s aviation sector and help establish the country as a leading aviation hub in Central and Eastern Europe.

The success of the strategy will depend on effective implementation of digital systems, cost management and coordination across the group’s aviation businesses.

Poland’s aviation transformation reflects a growing focus on digitalisation and operational efficiency. Through its 2026–2032 strategy, PGL aims to modernise ground handling, reduce operating costs and prepare for the future Port Polska airport project.
