"Do not come to the airport" warning


 
The storm of Alex, which was effective in the south of France, led to the death of 1 person, the disappearance of 11 people and serious material damage.

According to reports in the French press, the Alex storm, which has been effective since Thursday, caused heavy rainfall and floods, especially in the southeastern part of the country and the inner parts of the city of Nice.

In the storm that caused winds of up to 186 kilometers per hour, a cyclist lost his balance when he fell on a tree branch in the city of Brest in the Finistere region, and died.

While the French Meteorological Administration declared an alarm situation in 11 regions, a red alert situation was passed, especially in the Alpes-Maritimes region.

Regional officials asked the public not to leave their homes and use their vehicles unless necessary.

More than 60 thousand houses cannot be supplied with electricity due to the storm in which at least 11 people disappeared.

During the storm, which was reported to cause serious material damage, flood waters destroyed a bridge, and all train services in the Alpes-Maritimes region were canceled.

Nice Airport management advised passengers not to come to the airport.

While the amount of rainfall per square meter reaches 450 millimeters in places, heavy rains are expected to continue until tomorrow night.
