Are aviation and aerospace the same?

Aviation and aerospace are related but not the same.

Aviation refers to the design, development, production, and operation of aircraft. This includes all types of aircraft, from small private planes to large commercial airliners, military fighter jets, helicopters, and more.

Aerospace, on the other hand, is a broader term that encompasses both aviation and space exploration. Aerospace includes the design, development, production, and operation of vehicles that operate in or beyond the Earth's atmosphere, including spacecraft, satellites, and missiles.

While aviation and aerospace share some similarities, such as the use of aerodynamics and propulsion systems, they differ in their scope and focus. Aviation is primarily concerned with the development and operation of aircraft within the Earth's atmosphere, while aerospace covers a wider range of technologies and applications that go beyond the Earth's atmosphere.
