Learjet 60 Crashes Into Residential Area in Palm Beach County, Florida

A business jet crashed into a residential area near Cresthaven in Palm Beach County, Florida, on Sunday, November 1, 2026.

What happened

The Learjet 60 was flying from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas to North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas. The FAA confirmed nine people were on board. The crash happened at about 12:50 local time. Footage shows the aircraft rapidly losing altitude before hitting the ground, followed by a large fireball.

Scene on the ground

The impact tore up the asphalt and left a large crater. Flames and thick black smoke spread across the area and caused panic. The crash happened near a busy road and homes, which raised the potential for further harm. The aircraft is reportedly registered as N722BD.

Emergency response

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office closed Military Trail in both directions between Cresthaven Boulevard and 10th Avenue North. Fire, medical, and rescue teams were sent to the scene, and residents were asked to stay away.

Investigation

The FAA and the NTSB have opened an investigation. The NTSB will coordinate it and examine the aircraft's flight data and findings from the crash site. The jet lost altitude over Florida for a reason that has not yet been determined, and the cause remains unknown.

We will update this post as official information is released.

Big mistake suspected in LaGuardia airport crash!

New details coming after big accident at LaGuardia Airport where two pilots lost life. Investigation by National Transportation Safety Board say maybe timing mistake is main reason.

Report saying air traffic controller give permission to fire truck cross runway just 12 seconds before Air Canada plane landing. After that, collision happen and both captain and co-pilot died.

That time only two controllers working in tower, which is normal for night. But now people talking maybe too much work same time, little risky.

Also voice recording showing controller say “I made a mistake” after accident. Investigators also checking cockpit voice recorder. New systems have more recording time, so can help more to understand what really happen.

Investigation still going. Maybe after this, new safety rules will come for airport and air traffic control.
